This is a beautiful and desirable 1957 Alfa Romeo Giulietta SHORT WHEEL BASE Spider 750 Normale.  It is a 1300 with 4 Speed Tunnel Case Transmission.  It has the Solex Carburetor with Original Air Filter Canister. The original cam driven mechanical fuel pump is still on the front of the motor and was functioning properly until the diaphragm failed. It will need to be re-built. It currently has an electric pump installed and the car runs fine with it. The brakes were completely re-built several years ago with new wheel cylinders and brake shoes. It is missing the tailpipe section of the exhaust and the muffler has a cut on the underside. Starts easily and it runs and drives as it should.  The transmission shifts perfectly.   The motor in the car is a proper 1300 with serial # AR1315. 43359. according to Fusi. this is from a 1958 model. The hood tag with the car indicates that the original motor was #1315. 41201.

The car was purchased about 11 years ago from California. We were told at the time that it was a one owner car. belonging to a lady who had purchased it new. When it arrived on the east coast. the paint was tired and the nose around the grille area had some body work done and this area was in primer. The current owner had the car re-painted in the original white color. The dashboard face still has its original finish. The Red interior was re-upholstered in the past and has red aftermarket carpeting in place of the rubber mats that originally cover the floor area. It has the original Steering Wheel and Veglia Gauges. The mileage indicated on the odometer is 15673. nbsp;there is no way to verify if this is original. The horn works as does the outer center ring which flashes the high beams to "sorpasso" (used on the Italian autostradas to signal and pass slower traffic). The original dash knobs are present with correct gold markings. The doors have the correct original pulls. winders and opener levers. The bright work is all present. some of it in excellent condition and some will need slight repair and re-plating. The side spears come with the car. one needs to be welded and repaired and they too need re-plating.

The car has its original FEGAT Steel Wheels with their Center Caps.  The Michelin 155SR15 Tires on the car are new. but they have been on the car since current owner purchased and they are cracked and dry rotted.  The spare tire housing frame is in place behind the seats. the bracket that holds it in place is not original but the bolt is correct. The convertible top frame is not in the car currently. but it is included in the sale along with a new canvas top. The car has its original jack and lug wrench.  The original belts that hold these in place are present. but will need to be re-installed. The interior door opening trim is present and will need to be re-installed. The door glass is not currently in the car.

This Giulietta is solid with no evidence of rust or rust repair ever. The undercarriage is absolutely beautiful. It is a totally straight car with no signs of any accident damage. The doors shut perfectly. This is a great car that after installing new tires and the tailpipe. can be driven. enjoyed and lived with for quite some time. After that the car can be enjoyed as is while you attend to the details. As you use it. and become better acquainted with it. you can take your time and re-chrome and adjust things to your liking. You can easily bring it up to concours level while still being able to drive and enjoy it on a daily basis for this summer driving season and many more to come. All of this without having to go through the tedious. expensive and time consuming process of replacing rusty metal panels on a more reasonably priced project car. The Giuliettas are a worthwhile investment that will continue to appreciate due to their beautiful styling and desirability. This car is also eligible to participate in the Mille Miglia.

The car is New York. on the Queens side of the Triboro Bridge and you are encouraged to arrange to come and see and drive it. The car is listed for sale locally and we reserve the right to end the auction at any time. The car has a transferable NY State DMV Registration (in NY titles are not issued for cars prior to 1973). It is the buyers responsibility to arrange pick up of the vehicle after full payment from its current location. A deposit of $1000. is to be made by PayPal by the winning bidder at close of auction.
