Nice original barn find conditions. an easy restoration project.

A rare opportunity to acquire an original and rare PRE-WAR Vintage Ford v 8 passenger car.

Matching numbers : original FORD V 8 FLATHEAD engine 60 HP version 2228 cc 17 bolts alloy heads and alloy oil sump

UK registered. V 5 in hands MOT and TAX EXEMPT

Comes with original 1938 FORD stamped set of keys ( same key for steering and door lock ! ) original cranking handle and original 1938 sale brochure and more paperworks

She STARTS ( first time every time even with the cranking handle )

She DRIVES ( clutch. gearbox. rear axle everything is working fine and NO jumping out of gear )

She STOPS ( mechanically operated brakes still work )

Very solid for age. complete. an easy restoration project

This is a genuine French barn find. last on the road 40 years ago. this car was rescued from the chicken shed.

Original interior. electrical system and vinyl top are in bad conditions

She did start with the cranking handle but running on just 4 cylinders. I then overhauled the distributor. the carburettor and replaced spark plugs leads. caps and all the radiator hoses. oil and fitted a 12 volts coil conversion. She now runs on all 8 cylinder with the sweet flathead v 8 sound. Just one lifter a little bit noisy but not adjustable on these engines.

This engine is the rare smaller version of the famous Flathead V 8. it was produced from 1937 to 1939 in the USA but was successfully used in Midget Racing and for boat racing for many years ( offenhauser . eddie meyer . james jigglers special parts )
