Triumph spitfire 1500 with overdrive (1975) Pimento RedI have owned this car since 2005. I bought it as a restoration project with the view to use it as an everyday car over the summer months. the car was stripped down and had all the necessary repairs done mainly the outer sills and rear wheel arches. The doors and the boot lid also had some repairs. The car had previously had new floor pans fitted before i owned it. If I remember correctly the car didn't get painted for at least another 2 years as it only got worked on in spare time. There was an awfull lot of prep work carried out removing old paint and under seal from all the place which probably helpped preserve the metal work. I might be able to find some progress photos. The car also got almost a complete new interior everything apart from the dash board. I think in all since ive had the car back on the roads its barely covered 2000 miles. The tyres still look brand new. It was last on the road in 2011 and not been used since that summer. Obviously the car has been dry stored and covered up. I start it occasionally and have just had it in my workshop to service the brakes. I aim to sell the car with a new MOT and i am confident it will sail through. The engine runs and pulls very well and the overdrive works as intended in 3rd and 4th gear with the switch in the gear knob. The car is a must see if you are genuinely interested in this type of car. I feel if I keep hold of it any longer without the TLC it needs it will deteriorate and that would be a shame. The car is now over 40 years old and now illegible for free road tax which wasn't the case at all while I used it. The registration plate is original but i've been told its quite rare. LTM 6PDVLA offered me £600 to take it off the car and replace it with something else age related. but i decided against it as the all the glass is etched with that number.
I will upload as many pictures as I can that I feel will show the cars full potential. It is easy enough for me to forward any other pictures that you feel are needed. Just ask and i'll do my bestGenuine interest only please. I'd like to sell the car as quickly and painlessly as possible. I may even be able to offer a delivery service depending on the distance and the agreed selling price.
I may add some different pictures of the car as the time on this sale progresses.
My asking price is £4250
