1948 Morgan 4/4 for sale

1948 Series 1 Morgan 4/4.
Vin 1755. Original owner started restoration by replacing original Standard Special engine with Nissan (BMC clone). mating it to the original Moss gearbox. New replacement front fenders were obtained from the factory. At that point. he traded the Morgan in on a Jaguar XKE drophead kit.
When I saw the ad in the paper. I . took my 8 year old across the state to see the Morgan. It was in boxes. Over the years. I should have saved my money and have a mechanic fix it up.
Instead. I used the money to buy other cars that didn't run.
So now my 8 year old is 40. and I'm not. I'll be 70 soon. and after a stroke and 2 back surgeries I am realizing I need to raise some cash so my mechanic can fix up some of the other cars. My wife would like to finally park her car in the garage.
I've turned over the engine by hand often over the years. I have never tried the starter.
The Morgan needs rewiring. The tires may be original. One hubcap is missing. The flat radiator grille was partially redone by the original owner. It needs to be silver soldered. I have a new set of motor mounts if you want to replace the engine.
You could have an original Morgan for less than a replica if you have the time to devote to it.
Car titled in Michigan. original title used the Standard special engine number. which is stamped on bonnet.
Car was on Ebay 2 years ago:buyer had to sell another car first. Thanks to Josh at Barnfinds. com and Martyn Webb. archivist at Morgan Motors. I was able to learn more about the car.
