1982 Jeep CJ

DESERT VEHICLE - EXCELLENT BODY/SHEET METAL

Here we have a really nice '82 CJ-5.

Mileage unknown. odometer shows 81. 00. wouldn't be too shocked if that was actual.

The only real damage is a minor crumple on the passenger rear corner of the tub.

Also I believe the rocker panel diamond plating was installed to hide a small cutout on the passenger side. it looks like maybe a spot of rust was removed or cut for some other purpose.

The vehicle history shows it has been titled exclusively in West Texas since it was purchased new.

This would explain the excellent condition.

All smog parts have been removed and carb was swapped to motorcraft with a spectre cone filter intake system.

The factory carb and almost all of the removed parts are included. Vehicle is otherwise stock. T-176 4 speed manual trans. Dana 300 transfer case. AMC 20 rear end.

The engine runs good and doesn't smoke but the rear main seal leaks quite a bit and the rings are worn.

I installed an oil catch can to collect the blowby.

You can drive it as is but if I were to keep it I would rebuild the motor.

The 4 wheel drive works great.

Has a nice folding front tow bumper and a dual gas can/spare tire carrier.

This jeep does not have the tailgate option.

Bestop soft top and doors are only 7 months old.

Has Tuffy center console. Tuffy glove box and tuffy rear speaker/storage boxes.

All are lockable and have keys.

I installed a retrosound stereo with aux port. 4 kicker speakers. and a jvc amp (no subs).

Stereo sounds good with the auxillary but the FM has a noise problem I can't figure out.

I put in a new radiator. windshield frame seal. fuel sending unit. plugs/wires. and upgraded to the larger size distrubutor cap/rotor.

I also replaced the ignition switch and cylinder. and turn signal switch.

All 5 tires are excellent.

The wipers work but the washer does not.

The speedo unit has been replaced to try and fix the temp gauge/fuel guage but the gauges were not the problem. it was the senders.

The original speedo is included if you want to swap it back in.

Jeep also includes an acme full hard top/doors that needs some work.

The driver side sliding window is broken and it needs all new adhesive foam seals.

I'll install the hard top for shipping purposes and put the soft top/doors/extra parts inside the jeep.

See pictures for full condition. you can see that the metal is solid and aside from a tired engine it's in great shape.
