1981 Commer/Dodge Autosleeper 12 months mot. just had full service and brake overhaul. New front wheel cylinders. flex hoses. both handbrake cables and one rear cylinder. Showing 49. 00 miles. there no history to prove this but it's one of the smoothest running Commers I've ever had. and starts first time.
The Autosleeper conversion was in my opinion the best ever conversion of a Commer. It has a very versatile interior sleeping 4. a double bed and 2 bunks. A third bunk can be added over the cab. Seating in the rear can be for 4 facing sideways. or move the seats round for 2 forward facing rear seats. The interior does need some updating. the seat covers are original. but do require covers. There is plenty of cupboard space and a 2 burner hob and grille. sink. plus a fridge are fitted. these have not been tested. There is also a gas heater. Some period pottery is included.
Externally it has had a respray at some time and is not the best finish. It could do with a flat and polish. Some patching has been done. the largest is to the bottom of the drivers door. The pictures do make the finish look better than it is. It will require some external bodywork in the future. but underneath it is very solid. It also has four new tyres fitted.
Overall a really good starter van. which is ready to drive away.
