RS2000 Ford Escort. Recent SA Import Taxed n MOT

Here for sale is an RS2000 in yellow.

It's been painted red in the past then yellow again.

Date of first registration in the UK is 21/02/2013.

V5 in my name. and I am the first Registered UK owner.

Taxed until July 2013 Mot'd until November 2013.

It's got a long range fuel tank in the boot. being a South African import.

And due to the warmer climate. the bodywork isn't as bad as a UK one of this year.

It's obviously had repairs here and there. but on the whole. it's quite solid.

Paintwork is not so good. it will need re-painting at some point.

Engine is strong and pulls very well. good oil pressure.

This was driven over a hundred miles in South Africa to the docks without issue.

Gearbox is 5 speed. which again has no issues.

Starter motor is a bit lazy. and noisy. nbsp;but always starts the engine ok.

No nasty noises from the axle or any of the running gear.

Exhaust has started to blow at the front pipe to centre exhaust.

It has fishnet Recaros which will need recovering. as will the back seat.

6J RS alloys with reasonable tyres. There is no spare.

Clocks are in km's but they are easy to find in mph and cheap to buy on here.

This is an ideal RS to just jump in and drive for the summer (if we get one !)

and then take off the road for the restore in the winter.

I have a letter from The Sporting Escort Owners Club confirming the model is RS2000.

But due to it being imported. DVLA will not put the model on the UK V5.

In the following photos there are larger ones of the original chassis and body tags still present un-tampered with.  

Which state RS2000 manual. and the original colour as Signal Yellow.

The o/s top mount was scratched off so the DVLA could see the chassis number.

They have physically inspected this RS. It was not registered via post.

I personally took it on my trailer to their office for them to inspect.

This could be an ideal RS2000 to get you on the ladder of these much appreciating sporting classic Escorts.

The good thing about it is. nbsp;it's is a drivable taxed and mot'd classic RS but needs work.

If it was a pristine RS2000 you would pay much more obviously.  

Telephone numbers these RS's can command nowadays. But this is not one of those cars. It needs work.

But you can drive it home. nbsp;and it's not a weekends work to get it up to scratch.

Restore it as you use it.

It will only go up in value. You could use this everyday if you wanted to.
