REVISED ex Military Morris Minor 1000 Traveller Chassis no 1285884 for sale
Current customer rating:
Please note that since the last list someone has broken both mirrors. please see pictures. Price has been adjusted accordingly.
Ex-military Morris Minor 1000 Traveller in military colours.
This vehicle was my late father's and now it has come time to sell.
He acquired the vehicle October 2005 from The Morris Minor Millennium Company Ltd in Manchester with whom the vehicle was restored for him in British Army bronze green finish. The red wings being a later addition to represent a bomb disposal vehicle.
The Mo T expired 26 th May 2016 and is currently registered as SORN.
The V 5 C is present along with the last Mo T. Ministry of Defence transfer and release note. Military vehicle record card and a letter from BL Cars showing delivery date from the factory of November 1970.
The Military vehicle record card has
delivery to CVD Ashchurch on 16 Nov 1970 with a date in service of Jan 1971. there are lots of entries for the vehicle before being disposed of at Ruddington 25/5/77 with a transfer to civilian ownership taking place on 21/6/77 with the vehicle shown on the V 5 C being registered on 16 Jan 1979. Hence the 1979 registration on a 1970 vehicle!
In general the vehicle is in very good condition. and up until the latter part of 2015 was in use most days and does drive really nicely.
Mechanically it will need a service as I'm not sure when the last service was carried out. Previously the vehicle was looked after by Jim Smith of Carsmiths in Cawston Norfolk
Bodywork wise there are a few bubble patches and hopefully these have come out in the pictures. The woodwork does seem to be in a fair condition it being new when restored in 2005. although it does need re-finishing (a job that my father was due to do Summer 2015).
There has been the addition of a combined oil pressure/water temperature gauge onto the lower part of the dash.
In addition to the photos on the listing there is also a Photobucket library with these and additional photos. please see here:
photobucket. com/user/smudge 6874/library/Morris%20 Minor%20 Traveller
There is some military specific kit like fire extinguisher and first aid kit that will come with the vehicle. There is also a lot of other paperwork with the vehicle including past Mo Ts. bills etc.
The vehicle is located in Aylsham. Norfolk NR 11 and is for collection only with cash on delivery being preferred. There is no warranty given on this vehicle and no returns.
Viewing is available by prior arrangement. This can be most days/evenings but please contact me beforehand to arrange this.
If there are any pictures you would like of specific areas then please let me know and I'll try my best to accomodate.
Hopefully the vehicle will give the new owner as much pleasure as we have had over the past 11 years.
