VW T25 Camper van Transporter Project - 5 Speed Diesel High Top Danbury MOT FAIL

This is a 1986 Volkswagen T25 Transporter Camper Van - It is a Danbury Conversion.

4 Birth.

It has recently failed its MOT on Welding.

It is a Project vehicle.

D Reg.

1600cc Non Turbo Diesel with a 5 speed gearbox

Has Swivel passenger seat.

Has Dashboard tidy.

The Bodywork lets it down. There are obviously areas of Filler and rust and the paint is appaling.

The Cab doors are good

The tailgate is solid. br>
The sliding door is solid.   

Gutters are good.

It Failled its MOT on 2 areas - Rear N/S and Rear O/S Suspension component Mounting Corroded. The drivers side isnt too bad. but the passenger side needs a Lot of work. The passenger side needs a full inner sill and more.  

The interior is simple. There is a Fridge. a Hob / Grill (Untested). Cupboards. The bed is a very simple folding affair that could be better. . nbsp;

There are two 3 point seat belts in the back.  

The high top roof has space for 2 smaller people to sleep (no cushions)

I have used the electric hook up and run the fridge - it gets cold. The double socket also works.

I have driven the van around 30 miles without problem.

The gears all work fine and the engine and gearbox are in good working order.

It appears to need a Thermostat as it diddnt heat up fully.

All the Dashboard lights appeared to work other than the main beam light (I would hvae thought that would have been an MOT fail too!)

3 years ago it had a Diesel pump and Cambelt replacement - At a cost of about £900 - under 2000 miles ago.
 
It needs lots of welding work but is well worth saving.

We break these up for parts but this one seems too good to kill so I am offering it here so some one gets the chance to save it.

I will not give it away.   I know its value and can easilly make more than this back in parts.

I have the V5 here. It will be put into the buyers name - no exceptions.

I can get over £2500 of parts from this van. so please no dreamers.


If you are looking to do a Diesel Conversion then I would Sell the 1600 engine. gearbox (5 speed). Hangers / mounts and all related parts for £1499 - The engine is quiet and has a recent cambelt and has had the pump changed.  The gears all work fine.
