Thank you for looking at our auction for our beautiful MGB GT V 8. We aquired the car with the intention of converting to V 8 but have not completed the project and due to other business commitments we are offering it for sale for some one else to enjoy. Please read the description below for more information.

Exterior:
The car was re shelled with a genuine British Motor Heritage shell approx 5 years ago. The car is still in excellent condition with only a few light scratches. There are two small patches of paint blistering (please see pic) on each rear lower arch panel. the metal is not soft so seems to be just a paint issue. Being a relatively new heritage shell there are no sill. chassis. floor. wing or door rust issues to worry about so an excellent start to any project. The majority of the chrome work is new. The front and rear screens are new along with new rubber seals. The fold back sunroof has been refurbished along with a new matching vinyl roof. The MGB L. E. alloy wheels compliment the black paintwork well but they will need light refurbishing.

Interior:
The interior requires completing. there are a new set of high quality moulded carpets with sound proofing fitted. New interior panels and some of the headlining will need to be fitted and the seats will need to be re trimmed. This will allow you to complete the car to your specification and colour.
Mechanical:
We purchased the car with no engine with the intention of converting to V 8. The V 8 engine and gearbox were purchased for this conversion and we were told were in good condition. The gearbox is standard MGB with overdrive gearbox with an adapter plate to mate engine to gearbox. The engine will require an exhaust system and manifolds. carb. radiator and ancillaries to complete.

Over the past 12 months the following work has taken place whilst the vehicle has been off road.

Front suspension has been uprated to shocks instead of the old lever arm dampers.

Front brakes have also been uprated to new grooved discs and new calipers.

New rear springs and location cups.

All brake pipes have been replaced with copper and new stainless steel flexible hoses fitted

Overall:
This is rare opportunity to buy a MGB project with a heritage shell that has recently had thousands of pounds spent on its mechanicals that with a little more time and effort will produce a very high quality car that will last for years to come. There is work left to do but we all know how desirable the V 8 powered MGB's are and this could be one of the best.

As with all old cars and projects we advise people to view the car prior to purchase to enable them to have a good understanding of the work involved and satisfy themselves of the cars condition
