There are two sure-fire ways to stand out at a car show. You can either spend thousands of dollars building an ultra-unique show car. or you can simply buy a super clean and equally rare classic that draws a crowd all its own. With its cool color combination. date-correct 440 cubic inch high performance engine and 1 of 196 production stat. this 1967 Dodge Coronet is definitely a rare classic. And since it features straight. mostly original sheetmetal. show quality paint and a plush vinyl interior. it also happens to be super clean. If you're in the market for a unique Mopar that's rewarding to own. a blast to drive and fun to show. this two-owner drop-top is just what you've been looking for!

I'll begin by decoding this rare. blue B-body's VIN and itemizing the information listed on its fender tag.

When you're a frequent car show attendee it's easy to forget that there are shades of blue between GM's Fathom and Ford's Grabber. That is. until you run across a soothing pigment like Chrysler's Light Blue Metallic. Expertly sprayed over super solid sheetmetal that's only seen lower quarter panel patches. this Coronet's pale pigment still possesses the magnetism of a brighter blue. but attracts that attention without inflicting pure. unadulterated retinal trauma. Naturally. since this Dodge was the beneficiary of a thorough frame-up restoration. its remarkably straight body shows well from all angles. And its profile hangs straight panels and narrow seams that would put most factory builds to shame. If you crave conversation and want to be the center of attention at every car show you attend. this spectacular classic is your next ride!

By 1967 Detroit was over its fascination with chrome. and the styling of this Coronet strongly reflects that change. All the car's angles are sharp and well-defined while brightwork has been restrained to a minimum. Up front. a body-width stainless grille centers a bright red "R/T" emblem between four halogen headlights. a pristine chrome bumper and a familiar "DODGE" hood script. Above that grille. a defined hood props a quad of chrome-trimmed louvers in front of like-new glass that's cleared by satin finished wipers. framed by well-maintained stainless trim and capped by a correct white top. Below that glass multi-faceted body panels. which add an unmistakable vintage flavor to the car's modernist design. are detailed with correct stainless wheel lip moldings and dent-free rocker guards. Between those wheel lips. bold "R/T" fender emblems combine with a correct stainless antenna to perfectly complement traditional chrome door handles and a stylish driver's mirror. And out back. a black and silver valence hangs an off-center "R/T" emblem between a second. centered "DODGE" script. artfully hidden tail lights and a second pristine chrome bumper.

So. 'subtle' is the name of the game when it comes to this classic Mopar's exterior. and that's certainly not a bad thing. However. as you can probably tell from the previously decoded fender tag. 'subtle' goes right out the window when you pop its sculpted blue hood. Looking good and sounding even better between the car's clean and solid fenders is a date-correct 440 cubic inch Magnum V8 which wears a correct 2536430 casting number and a modern electronic ignition system. At the top of that legendary Chrysler mill. a 4-barrel Carter AFB Competition carburetor is sandwiched between a correctly branded organisol air cleaner. a cast iron factory intake and a pair of traditional chrome valve covers. In front of those valve covers. a familiar Mopar points distributor sends fire through a fresh set of Chrysler Corporation Electronic Suppression plug wires. And beneath those valve covers. cast iron heads dump incinerated dinosaurs into a free-flowing true dual exhaust system via original cast iron manifolds. Cooling for the big engine is provided by a heavy duty 26 inch Chrysler radiator that's cinched to fresh hoses via correct squeeze clamps. A nice splash of color comes courtesy of a thick coat of high temp block paint. And the car's exceptionally clean engine bay is highly detailed and very impressive from its upfitted brake booster and tagged Mopar red cap battery all the way to its bright decals and reproduction Chrysler washer tank.

Like its exterior panels. the bottom of this Coronet is clean. solid and covered in a smooth coat of factory correct paint. The powerful Magnum engine twists torque through a rugged A727 Torqueflite 3-speed automatic transmission and a traditional 8. 75 inch Sure Grip rear end. That awesome drivetrain is held off the ground by a rebuilt front torsion bar and rear leaf spring suspension that makes good use of fresh front end bushings and highly desirable factory power steering. Exhaust is handled by an aluminized true dual system which is complete with an H-pipe crossover and great sounding Turbo mufflers. Stops come courtesy of retrofitted power front disc and rear drum brakes. And power flows to the ground through a slick set of 14 inch Magnum 500 wheels that spin G70-14 Firestone Wide Oval Super Sport redlines around fresh chrome lug nuts. This Dodge's frame and floors are rock solid and display no signs of rust or serious weathering; and everything from its stainless fuel tank to its pit-free driveshaft is fully-sorted and ready to go!

60s Mopar interiors are almost always stunning. and the correct cockpit in Coronet is no exception. The soft white vinyl used to cover the car's seats and door panels practically glows against glossy black door toppers. rich black carpet and mirror-like stainless trim. Aesthetically. those seats look and feel new. and that carpet displays no signs of fading or staining. Being a 1967 model. this car was built during Chrysler's love affair with long center consoles; and while it isn't as elaborate as the Charger's four place divider. this car's tunnel topper is nonetheless impressive. Featuring tons of brightwork. a classic chrome shifter and enough storage to pack the groceries in. it definitely serves as the focal point of the interior. At the front of the car. a fresh dash retains its clean classic lines with a well-integrated set of rebuilt gauges providing vintage flair. An original Dodge AM radio remains in place. though a modern head unit is tucked away just below. The car's steering wheel is a wood-rimmed piece with three machined spokes. And its trunk has been fully restored all the way from its lid to its floor.

The sale of this super cool Dodge includes its original build sheet. its original Chrysler Certicard. its original bill of sale. official Chrysler Registry papers. a stack of restoration and maintenance receipts. some factory brochures. a service manual. a VHS tape of vintage Dodge and Plymouth Commercials. and a Year One restoration catalog.

Judging by its date-correct Magnum V8. virtually unbreakable Torqueflite transmission and sweet Light Blue Metallic on white color combination. I'd say someone invested a great deal of time and money bringing this Coronet back to its current condition. If you've always wanted an awesome B-body to cruise around and enjoy. you won't find more car for the money. And what's even better: this Dodge is a fully documented. 100% correct collector piece. So. what are you waiting for? Don't miss your chance to own one of the coolest Mopars ever built!
