1977 VOLKSWAGEN T2 KARMANN GYPSY – VERY RARE – MOTOR CARAVAN WHITE for sale
Current customer rating: (305 votes ) based onYour chance to own a super rare classic!
I purchased the van just over a year ago and since then it has undergone a complete interior renovation.
Soon after acquiring the van I noticed a strong damp smell and decided to investigate further. It turned out that there had been a sever leak which had rotted the entire timber frame of the caravan– it became clear that I would have to strip out all of the rotten wood. Please see the uploaded images for process of renovation.
This is an original Karmann conversion and we believe there were only 1000 ever made– only 8 of which are left in the UK.
There is plenty of space inside. with a big double bed. a toilet cubicle (something that has come in very handy in the middle of the night when you don't feel like trouncing through a muddy campsite). and a brand new SMEV combination hob and sink. Sink has no tap fitted as of yet and gas pipe is there but not connected. There is also space for a fridge!
Being able to walk through from the cab is a big bonus. too!
Here are just some of the other great features:
Brand new vinyl flooring Brand new EMPI exhaust Brand new heat exchangers Brand new Porsche replica wheels Brand new tyres Brand new bespoke handmade interior Fully re-insulated Fully opening rear window (gives a nice airy feel when having a beer or a cuppa. ) Stable style door 2 litre type 4 engineThis van really is a head turner wherever you go. Be prepared to receive a lot of attention. and questions like “have you just reversed into a caravan?” But if you know your Volkswagens. you know you're looking at history.
It has just passed it's MOT (12th August 2016) and will be tax exempt next year.
Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any further questions.
This project has been a labour of love for the past year. but unfortunately after recently being made redundant I am being forced into a very reluctant sale— so please no silly offers or time wasters.
Payment Terms:
Bank transfer (BACS) only Van will be released as of funds clearingWant to buy this car?
