RAT LOOK lowered lead-red 1959 pre 68 shell oval looker MOT

Spec

1959 right hand drive chassis. early gear box and short axles wide 5 hubs and steels

MOT and Tax exempt and has a tax ticket on her till Oct 13.

I believe that is a 66-68 shell. have been anywhere between them dates (no welding for the fuel flap on the side of the wing. window frames and lay out and the shape of the dash)

1300 sp engine with no leaks just serviced and changed main crank oil seal (not original was installed after a rebuild about 400 miles ago)

The original dash was all cut up by previous owners so replaced with a new aluminium flat dash

I have big feet so the accel pedal is a skate board wheel. v comfy to drive instead of the pedal with my clown's feet!!

The floor pan and chassis are solid but would benifet from a re wax oil

We drove this car to European bug in 4. Chimay Belgium and back 2 years ago with no dramas. Since then it has had the odd weekend out and been to a couple of small shows. only selling to fund the step up to a van!

The car isn't for the purist but its looks good as a rat look and after several incarnations over its 54 years is probably to hard to make OEM but as it sits would make a great show goer /weekender car. it turns heads where ever we go! And like all aircooled beetles its fun to drive

 If it was going to be used as a daily the following would need addressing

The doors need keys cutting (custom commercials do this from the code on the handle. we just never got round to doing it)

The heater channels though solid are not connected

The doors would need a little TLC if using as a daily as the drivers regulator is temperamental and it needs a seal set.

Like I have mentioned it is rat look so would need a lot of work to be 100% original and has several incarnations. (we got it as a mid 90's style car standard height in purple on teledials it looked awfull!) hence why we left it ratty. It is a little rough around the edges but that is what the look is all about!
