1950 Plymouth Special Deluxe
Four Door Sedan
A “Care Giver” was given the car when the elderly lady could no longer drive. The elderly lady bought the car new and it comes with the original build sheet and miscellaneous papers. Her husband rebuilt the engine. radiator etc. and detailed the engine compartment and inside fender wells.
He rewired the car with a new Plymouth harness . He had the car painted and new steel belted tires installed. Shortly thereafter he died and she sold the car to me.
The car drives nicely. smooth shifting and good brakes. All lights work as well as heater and reconditioned radio.
I found no rust except usual surface undercarriage rust. The interior is original with some wear spots by the front interior door handles. beautiful dash and steering wheel.
Stainless trim in very nice condition. chrome shines rear bumper has small dent. (see picture).
Glass good all around.
We rebuilt the distributor. new points. cap. rotor etc. Redid carberator and it runs nicely but there is a flat spot at a certain speed. Will try to adjust.
Temp gauge not registering but car runs cool.
Car comes with several extra stainless trim pieces and complete right and left front fenders with lights and chrome if buyer wants them.
These Plymouths are nice simple cars to drive and operate. Fun “club car” or everyday short commute car. This is a super solid car. Don't buy a junk Plymouth and spend a lot of money fixing it up.
These cars don't bring a lot of money so get a pretty nice one to begin with and it will always hold it's value. I have 13 cars and due to my age I need to cut back on some of my projects.
