We're selling our beautiful Beetle. It's currently SORN as we have had a third baby (last year) and it's time to accept that it's not really a car we get to use much :( Obvs not sad about the third baby. she's adorable. but it's time for our Betty Blue to go to a family/couple who can use her more.  (We also have a 1972 T2 campervan which sits and sleeps the 5 of us comfortably. so we're using that more and more. ) Anyway. here's the bit we're advised to say.  Please don't bid if you don't wish to finalise the transaction. if you win then please make sure you deposit the correct level of funds for deposit and settle the outstanding amount upon collection. all stated in detail at the bottom of this advert. Thankyou. thankyou :)
The Photo illustrates what a gorgeous car it is.  VW introduced the Beetle 1500 in 1967. The car was equipped with an improved engine of 1493cc. coming from the Type 3. disc-brakes at the front (only in European cars). The American cars got vertical placed head-lights and a 12-volts installation. The bonnet became more angular due to the bigger engine. And the car got an anti-roll-bar. The 1500 version of the Beetle is known as the best Beetle ever built.
The above is a quote from Silverstonefortunecity. com - Many agree that the 1500 is fabulous in both looks and drive. We have to agree. She always starts first time. She is a beautiful head turner and she is a delight to drive. chunky and funky. hehe!
THE ROOF COMES WITH TWO COVERS - ONE IS A FULL COVER. VINYL. WHICH CONCERTINAS AND GATHERS AT THE REAR OR COMES OFF COMPLETELY (OUR PREFERENCE. WE ALWAYS DID THIS. V EASY). THE OTHER IS A COVER FOR WHEN THE ROOF BARS ARE OFF (AS I SAY WE ALWAYS DID THIS) AND YOU JUST NEED A ZIPPED TONNEAU COVER TO PARK IT SECURELY. ROOF DOWN. DURING SUMMER MONTHS.  BOTH ARE GORGEOUS DARK BLUE VINYL COVERS. IMMACULATE. NO RIPS OR WEAR.
CAR HAS BEEN GARAGED OR COVERED SINCE 1997. THAT'S ALOT OF YEARS! What else can we say. When we bought the car. nbsp;it had just returned from Sandown at Volksworld and had received admiring comments all weekend. We couldn't resist it. We managed to secure a price and the owner (who was subsequently offered £7. 5k by several people after us) was a really good guy and honourable. he called it dub love! Anyway. he stuck to the price he originally gave us and we're doing the same and not grasping for more.  Here's the extra detail:
ORIGINAL SERVICE BOOK SUPPLIED . STAMPED AND RECORDED.
The car was supplied by
Johnson Brothers. Redditch on The 24th September 1968.
Betty Blue was then sold to a gentleman on the 8th September 1969 to a neighbour in Redditch.
She remained within that ownership until 18th June 1986 and she remained within the Redditch area.
In 1997 a Lady in Tadworth acquired her and retained the vehicle until a few years ago when an enthusiast acquired it (before accepting our offer post Volksworld!)
The History of this car is very interesting.  There is a detailed history of expense and in the last 9 years in excess of £10. 00 has been spent creating a fabulous car which has been subject to Volksworld Photography in shows.

What else to say! Except. this is a well loved and well maintained Bug. which has two navy blue hand stitched vinyl roofs (see above for more info) and aside from a few slight marks of age. read slight slight marks here and there. it is in fab condition with new carpets. rear seatbelts and the original radio (which doesn't work. we haven't replaced it. as it's so rare to still have it in place and v cute to look at). We just drive with our RCAM cube. which plays from our iPods.

The receipt shows the roof was replaced by ''Bentley Specialist''
We'll pay for a year's MOT and for it to be road-taxed. It's currently SORN. which is a big hint to us that we're too big a family to sensibly use it.
There are no blemishes on the coachwork. although a couple of the roof clasps need re-fixing (we have these) and we haven't seen any rust or horrid bubbles. The presentation on the coachwork is pretty amazing in our humble opinion!
As stated. the inside has a retro rat stereo original VW Beetle radio. gorgeous. rare and a joy to look at. way better than an 80s radio that is too rubbish to use anyway. We used our ARAM cube and Ipod.
Leather rear Blue Seats with matching front seats finished with complimentary white piping.
Carpets are in Black.
Door cards are in Blue and White.
Unleaded conversion runs on super high octane .
Drives with ease and it's reliable. It really is a rare bug.
We hope she goes to a loving home for a very long time as this car is very much worth being cared for. WE KNOW YOU'LL NEED MORE PHOTOS. This is one from our personal albums. We can email to any interested parties. Please also note that we are away this weekend. hence the long auction. If you do BIN. we will need to arrange your collection for the following weekend.
Sorry for the very long listing. ! Whoever buys her will be overjoyed - she is lovely :-)

PLEASE CALL MY HUSBAND (he's much better at off the cuff chats than me!) on 07949 158340 and in the meantime. I'll upload as many photos as I can find. Thank you and all the best. Sara x
