Gateway Classic Cars of Detroit is very proud to offer this classic 1964 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible. With roughly 4. 00 miles since its engine rebuild in 2002 this 327 Cubic Inch V 8 powered Corvette fires right up and is a reliable pleasure to drive anywhere. The 327 was originally a 365 horsepower small block but now being rebuilt is a bit more potent than stock. The absolutely stunning blue metallic paint was also done in 2002 when the car was taken all the way down to the factory fiberglass which was in surprisingly great shape. Since then. the factory hard top has never been reinstalled so the body doesn't have the typical weather strip marks on it. The gauges and headlamp motors were also rebuilt in 2002. Back in 1976 the car underwent a complete body off restoration. the frame was sand blasted and shot in Emron and still looks sharp to this day. The 4 speed manual transmission shifts smooth and the clutch feels healthy when you're banging through the gears. The rear end has been stuffed with 4. 10 gears and a posi which makes this Corvette a lot of fun to hit the streets with. A couple other rare options for 1964 are the seat belts and power windows. that's right. power windows!! The 1964 Corvette saw a few changes over the first C 2 that was introduced in 1963. The ride quality was greatly improved with the swap to progressive rate front coil springs as opposed to the prior constant rate springs and the rear leaf thickness was also altered. Even with the changes made to the suspension for a more comfortable ride the Corvette didn't have to sacrifice its performance. this car will carve through corners like you would expect a Corvette to. This 1964 Corvette has been professionally detailed. so just grab the walnut steering wheel. drop the top. and cruise in to turn heads at your local car show.
