MK3 FORD CORTINA 2000 GXL BLUE 5 SPEED

Reluctant Sale of my MK3 Cortina
I have finally made the decision to sell my MK3 Cortina. due to having too many projects to do and not enough time to use it or space to keep it.
I purchased it as a rolling shell back in Feb 2014. The last owner had dismantled it approx 12 years previous to this and had basically not done a lot to it apart from. fitting 1 sill and a couple of patches to inner sills. The rest of the shell is very solid. I then proceeded to purchase from him: the doors. boot. bonnet. interior. most of the chrome trim. bumpers. wiring harness. dash. clocks. speedo assembly. so basically most of the car apart from the engine and box (believe me. it would have been cheaper to buy a complete car!!)The engine and box were from a MK3 Capri 2. 0 with 5 speed box. This was then stripped to check and had: new oil seals. de-coke. valve grind. stem seals. spray bar. gates cam belt. new water pump and new clutch. The car has also had: all new brake pipes (including flexi's). new wheel cylinders. calipers overhauled with new seals. pistons and pads. I then had to source wings and bought 1 new and 1 good second hand.
All the panels where then fitted and sanded to bare metal where necessary. It was then undercoated. flatted and given a few coats of Marine Blue in cellulose.
A new vinyl roof was then fitted by local trimmers.
The rims have been cleaned. painted and new tyres where fitted.
The car hasn't been used much since I restored it and due to running out of space. it has been stored outside under a car cover (which isn't ideal). This has meant the paint finish has become a little tired and could benefit from a refresh. possibly a respray if you were looking to make this perfect?This doesn't detract from the overall look of the car and it still looks a stunning car. and turns a few heads. It did have the original blue cloth interior in but this needed repairs to drivers and rear seat. so I replaced it with a black vinyl XL interior which is in good condition.
( I still have the original cloth interior. complete with door cards and other trim to match. This will be available to go with the car. IF it reaches the required price!)
I have all of the old test certificates from Sept 1979 - May 2002 (when the person I bought it from. said he purchased it) The last indicated mileage in 2001 was 79. 24.
The car drives really well and is still very capable in modern traffic.
I don't really want to sell the car but as I have said. I no longer have the time or space to keep it and would rather it go to someone who will use it to it's full potential.
This car really needs to be viewed to appreciate how solid a shell and what good condition it's in.

The MK 3 Owners club have done a valuation at the last annual general meeting and the valuation is above what I am looking for. for the car (so please NO silly offers as I will not let it go for under what I believe is a fair price)
