Amazing original condition 1969 Type 2a microbus

Bought new by Leo Frances Krapfenbauer in Vienna-Austria in November 1969 believed to be used for radio transmission.

This vehicle was factory ordered with incredibly rare twin dynamo and has an immaculate Indian Red interior.

Research has lead me to believe the old valve amps used for radio transmission required a lot of power to start them. hence the vehicle having a second (24v) bosch dynamo and regulator and has a 230v inverter behind the drivers seat.

The speedo is showing 29. 00km and I have no reason to doubt that it's genuine at 129. 00km. In 20 years of building. restoring and repairing classic vw's I can honestly say this is the nicest. most solid and original bus I have driven or owned.

The vehicle was last used in 1984 when it was put into dry storage until 2008 when I was fortunate to purchase it.

There is comprehensive documented history for the vehicle showing the last main dealer service at 93. 00km. I have the original service book pack are they are in immaculate condition. backed up with many German documents including the original log book/title.

Driving this bus is a testament to VW and proves why they were so popular back in the day. Every switch and component feels tight and like new. It even has "as new" genuine VW fan belts and working beacons!

Will be on display at the Alive and Dubbin VW event (Jimmy's Farm) this weekend 7-9th June.
