This 1968 Chevrolet Corvette was the first year of the C3 model production. this convertible has a 350 small block with a factory 4 speed manual gearbox.   Originally 'Safari Yellow with black interior. but now black with red stripes and black and red interior.

The car was produced in St Louis and has been a California car all it's life. The engine is not the original engine. but it has the correct GM factory replacement 350 small block engine.

When I bought the car I was told it was an original one owner car from California. the owner had parked it up and it had stood for a number of years before giving it to his son as a project car to restore. but the son didn't do a good job of what should have been an easy project. So the fiberglass is wavy in places where he has used a sander to crudely take off the old paint. but an easy project as it's all fiberglass. He added bigger wheel arches to take the wide Wolfrace and tyres (275/60/15 on the rear and 225/60/15 on the front). A few inches have been added to the tail lip section too. Side pipes have also been added.

Sadly the owner died recently and his wife sold the car to a friend of mine who then sold it on to me. so I am technically the second owner.

The car is very clean. it has a new fuel tank fitted and is very solid underneath the car. I don't have a soft-top for the car. but I do have a hardtop as shown in the photos. I've been asked about the rear wheel position as they seem off center to the body. The factory spec has a wheelbase of 98". nbsp; this is correct on one side of the car but 0. 5" shorter on the other side and is an easy adjustment to correct. I think this is simply down to an optical effect where the rear wheel arch has had too much take off giving the impression the wheel isn't centered within the opening.

All duties and taxes are paid for the UK. This is a really easy restoration project for someone as it's all fiberglass. the car runs and drives and actually sounds quiet for a V8. The car is in the UK and can be viewed at any time. if you have any questions or would like to see more photos please let me know.   Here is link to a short video where you can here the car running.
