In 1960. “The Motor” magazine tested an Austin-Healey BT 7 3000 with overdrive discovering a top speed of 115 MPH and 60 MPH from zero in 11. 7 seconds. Costing just £1. 26. it seemed a bargain to enthusiasts and racers. Available in 2-seater form (BN 7) and 4-seater guise (BT 7). the car offered buyers a sweet batch of optional extras like wire wheels. overdrive transmission. laminated windshield. heater. adjustable steering column. detachable hardtop and two-tone paint to complement the standard features like a 3000 cc inline 6-cylinder engine with twin SU carburetors and Girling front disc brakes.
