"Bessie" as the van is known. is ready for a new home. She is now for sale due to her previous owner passing away.

 

Good points.

 

- Recent body work restoration carried out by a VW specialist. Full photo documentation of this so no nasty surprises to be found in years to come.

 

-Stock 1600cc recon engine 5600 miles ago

 

-Very original Dormobile D4/6 conversion in good condition. Sleeps 4 comfortably.  

 

-The mileage of 27000 is believed to be genuine.  

 

-Same owner for the last 17 years.

 

-Large history file containing 17 years worth of M. O. Ts. receipts and other documentation. The van even comes with its original 1969 VW owners handbook!

 

-Current MOT till August (no advisories on MOT certificate)

-Tax till July (tax exempt vehicle)  

 

-Bad points

-Headlining section above the bed is missing and the pop top needs a good scrub.  Neither of which are big jobs.

 

In summary Bessie is ready to be enjoyed as a camper should be. She would make a great family camper or with a little time and effort would be a show winning vehicle.


I was a close friend of the previous owner for over 20 years and am also a VW fanatic. I am selling Bessie on behalf of the family. The van has previously been advertised on ebay as a classified advert but now we would like a quick sale. The reserve is very reasonable and i have the van advertised elsewhere so reserve the right to end the auction early.
