1985 De Tomaso Pantera GT 5 $179. 00. 00 USD 12. 00 miles. Black on Beige Leather. 5. 7 L 350 HP. 5 Speed Manual Tranmission. Featured in Motor Trend Dec. 1984. Freshly Serviced. As beautiful and brutal as the De Tomaso Pantera was in its introductory form. Alejandro De Tomaso was determined to improve on his Ford 351 Cleveland-powered dream machine. Gremlins found in early production cars were addressed in subsequent versions. but in 1975 Ford stopped importing them into the U. S. market. Enter Wisconsin businessman and quintessential car guy George Stauffer. who assumed importation of the new Pantera GT 5 in the early 1980 s. The GT 5 was the most aggressive-looking Pantera yet. with fiberglass fender extensions. spoilers and rear wing. all typical of FIA Group 5 practice. and vastly improved performance. Although Ford had ceased U. S. production of the 351 Cleveland engine. Australian production continued. as did its use in the Pantera.
This 1985 De Tomaso Pantera GT 5 is a fine example it is remarkably fresh in its presentation. having been driven just 12. 00 miles and maintained in a private collection from 2000 to 2016. The good-looking black paint is complemented with a luxurious and pristine tan leather interior trimmed with burled-wood inserts.
