The Ford Mustang is an American icon and was originally based on
the Ford Falcon compact. The first production Mustang rolled off
the assembly line in Dearborn. Michigan on 9 th March 1964 and was
introduced to the public at the New York World's Fair on 17 th April
1964.
It was. and remains. one of the most successful product
launches in automotive history. The Mustang sold over one million
units in its first 18 months on the market and its legend lives on
with revised models still in production today after 50 years.
With each revision. the Mustang saw an increase in overall
dimensions and in engine power.
Built in San Jose. California. this fine example was first
registered on the 1 st January 1965 and is believed to
have only had two owners while in the US. It is finished in the
striking colour combination of blue with complementary blue
interior and benefits from having a manual gearbox. The owner
describes the engine. transmission. and paintwork all to be in
excellent condition.
The car comes supplied with a V 5 C
document which shows the car was first registered in the UK on
1 st December 2015 together with an Mo T test certificate
valid until November 2016. A very well presented example of this
iconic piece of Americana.
