We are delighted to present this early example of the Alfa Romeo
Giulietta Sprint that took the world by storm in 1954. Such was its
impact upon the world of motoring. bursting onto the market at its
introduction at the 1954 Turin Motor Show. it was soon
christened. quot Italy's girlfriend"by the adoring public. The vehicle's
outstanding performance. at the time. from its 1. 3 litre twin cam
engine. together with the beautiful lines penned by Nuccio Bertone
in conjunction with Felice Mario Boano and Franco Scalione. led
this innovative little coupé to become the benchmark for coupés in
the future.
You cannot replicate the age and originality that is presented
with this Giulietta. Manufactured on 9 th March 1956. it
left the factory in the colour of 'Azzurro Capri' however. its
first owner gave the car to his daughter who decided that she would
prefer the Giulietta to be re-painted in grey and so it has
remained ever since. The matching interior is original and. apart
from some staining. is also untouched and in remarkable order. The
coachwork is in very good condition and doesn't require
restoration an important factor. as these motor cars were hand
built and. in particular. the wired hand shaped wheel arches are
delightful. Mechanically. a later 101 series engine was fitted that
has been recently rebuilt by our vendor. an engineer however. also
supplied with this Giulietta is an NOS (new old stock) unstamped
boxed 750 series alloy block a rare and sought after item. The
gearbox has also been updated with the later 101 series five speed
unit enabling a more comfortable ride at speed.
Subject to meeting the technical specifications. this truly hand
built early Giulietta is eligible to enter the Mille Miglia
Retrospective under the GT class - this represents a golden
opportunity to invest in a largely unmolested Alfa Romeo Giulietta
with potential entry to such a premiere event.
