Velocette is the name given to motorcycles that were made by
Veloce Ltd. in Birmingham. One of several motorcycle manufacturers
in the city. Velocette was a small. family-owned firm selling far
fewer hand-built motorcycles than the giant BSA. Norton or Triumph
concerns.

This Velocette was first registered in October 1965 and was
rebuilt from a 500cc to a 350cc by specialist Velocette engine
rebuilders Seymour whose plate is stamped on the engine. Prior to
the 1997 rebuild. the current vendor had completely restored this
example which formed part of a larger collection; since the Viper
rebuild. it has only been used on the Mendip run but a few
times.

Recent maintenance includes a new battery. carburettor. tyres
and re-upholstered seat whilst the petrol tank has been treated
inside. re-sprayed and lacquered with new transfers. We are
informed the bike is in excellent mechanical and cosmetic
condition. is an excellent starter and is very quiet. Accompanied
by a new MoT test certificate. it is worth noting that the original
500 cylinder head is available and a new owner could easily obtain
a 500 barrel and piston to return this to a Venom 500 at very
little cost if he so wished.
