Thanks for looking!!!Welcome to our 7 day low reserve auction for this very nice numbers matching 1972 Chevrolet Corvette LT 1 convertible with removable hard top and soft top in very nice daily driver condition, VIN 1 Z 67 L 2 S 526876. This is the last year for the chrome front and rear bumpers, egg crate grill, side fender grills and removable rear window. From our research, only around 1700 of these were built, and it has a period correct block, DZ 302 cylinder heads, intake, carburetor, exhaust manifolds, points distributer etc. We were able to find the VIN number on the transmission and it's the correct Muncie M 21 close ratio, the block however isn't numbered, though it should be correct upon close examination. The valve covers have been replaced at some point in the past as the correct LT 1 valve covers aren't present and since they were aluminum, we're guessing they were cracked and replaced with these as that is common from over tightening aluminum valve covers. It's painted burgundy red, however, the factory color was Ontario Orange. The car runs and drives great and is very smooth. The clutch has a very slight chatter when first engaging it, but operates well in all gears with no grinding or issues. The car has new main rear leaf spring with spring bushings and bolt kit. It has 5 new Cooper Cobra tires with matching spare. It has a new shocks on all four corners and a new steering coupler and new power assist unit. The stainless steel exhaust is new from the manifolds all the way back with stainless Magna Flow mufflers and NOS stainless tips. The power window switches need to be cleaned or replaced as you have to monkey with them a little to get them to work. The console around the emergency is a little loose and the emergency brake needs a little tightening.
