The Porsche 356 was created by Ferdinand 'Ferry' Porsche. son of
founder Dr. Ferdinand Porsche. Like its cousin. the Volkswagen
Beetle which Ferdinand Porsche senior had designed. the 356 was a
lightweight and nimble handling motor car with the four cylinder
engine and drive positioned at the rear. The chassis was a
completely new design as was the 356's body which was designed by
Porsche employee Erwin Komenda. while certain mechanical components
including the engine case and some suspension components were based
on and initially sourced from Volkswagen.
With the prices of the 356 Speedsters now well within the six
figure mark. we are delighted to offer this high quality example.
The car was recently imported to the UK last year and is supplied
with a US Certificate of Title. EU taxes paid. NOVA documents and
it is hoped that by the time of the sale. UK registration documents
will be supplied. Power is supplied by a rebuilt 2100 cc Stroker
engine fitted with twin Weber carburetors and bringing the car to a
stop are new upgraded front discs and calipers. The interior
features Porsche dials. authentic period tan carpets and seats as
well as a wood rimmed Nardi steering wheel. Keeping the elements at
bay is a black roof. tonneau and side screens. With a current Mo T
test certificate valid until February 2017. all that is required is
for the new owner to enjoy the 356 experience at a fraction of the
cost of the genuine article.
