History of this car

Our chassis 3837269 is an ID20 model fitted with the carburettor bigger 103hp motor mated to a 4 speed manual transmission and is amongst the last of this series manufactured at the Quai de Javel plant in late 1969. so is a 1970 model with the latest dashboard. Our car also features the very rare front valance fog light option. normally only found on top line Pallas equipped cars; this would have been a costly option when new.

Supplied new to Italy. marketed as an ID20 Super with a list price of 1. 98. 00 Lire and being first registered in Turin on 18. 10. 1969. Our car remained in Turin until very recently when imported by us.

Our car is finished in the very cool and exceptionally rare colour combination of gris Brumaire with a blanc albatre roof and gris Phoque cloth trim.

The total mileage recorded is 18000klms. which judging by the preserved nature of the interior and lack of wear on original carpets. trim and so on is believable as a second time round figure of 118. 00 klms or 73. 00 miles from new.

We are researching the history of this car but understand it is a two owner from new vehicle.

Body

The body on this lovely D makes for a strong first impression with arrow straight sides. very good panel gaps and the pleasing ways the opening panels open and shut.

There is no rust on this car that we can see. all the usual rot spots are rock solid and the car does not appear to have hand any accident or rust repair. unusual for this model.

The paint is an older repainting which has lasted very well with virtually no marks anywhere. and it has an excellent shine. The roof seals look fresh which suggests recent replacement of this key area.

Chassis wise this D is excellent. with factory undercoating throughout.

The glass is undamaged apart from some minor abrasions to the windscreen. all rubber seals are supple and the bumpers are dent free. All trim is equally good. and the roof mounted aerial. missing at the time of the photography. will be supplied fitted with the car.

Mechanics

Our car had a major service in Turin some 3000 klms ago with the ignition and fuel systems being overhauled. in addition to the hydraulics receiving new spheres and accumulator.

The engine starts immediately and is very quiet. with no smoke or untoward noises. The gearbox and clutch are perfect and the car drives spot-on. consistent with the low mileage and low ownership. We will be conducting an oil and filter change prior to sale.

All tyres are correct Michelins with plenty of tread.

The under bonnet is nicely detailed with factory finishes throughout. and a full compliment of tools accompany the car. down to the spare LHM can.

Interior

This is a feature of the car. in quite delightful original condition and beautifully preserved. The cloth is unmarked . ditto the carpets and the dashboard is perfect. All door cards are also in excellent shape.
