The Porsche 356C. being Porsche's first production model. has
generated a huge following right across the world with competition
variants. stock cars and beautifully presented original road cars.
A movement has evolved. however. in Southern California for a
variant known as the 'Outlaw'. The first 'Outlaw 356' appears to be
a 1956 356 Carrera customised by Dean Jeffries in 1957. As soon as
he purchased the car. he started modifying it to showcase his
abilities as a custom car builder. When asked years later why he
customised a Porsche. he answered. "Because. back then only the
sports car guys had any money. All of the hot-rodders were broke. "
This way of thinking can most easily be seen reflected in the
global phenomenon of the VW Beetle. Huge industries exist for the
promotion and modification of these iconic motorcars. And so it is
with the Outlaw.

We are proud to offer a magnificent example of an Outlaw that is
presented in exceptional condition throughout. Imported into the UK
in early 2015. this matching numbers example has been UK registered
and the import duties paid. We are informed that. in 2009. br/>restoration works were carried out by Hamilton Classics. a small
restoration company located in Texas. who have specialised in
restoring the 356 model since the late 1960s. The engine has been
upgraded with an LN Engineering Nickies Big Bore Kit machined to
1883cc with further top end and crankshaft work and a full flow oil
filter. Fuel is supplied via the Weber carburettors and exhaust
gases extracted through a Bursch extractor system with a street
muffler. The interior has been replaced including the headlining
and German weave carpet. In addition. this Porsche 356 boasts Lexan
side windows. re-upholstered custom 911RS race-style seats with
three point harnesses. a MOMO Prototipo steering wheel. aluminium
floorboards and a dead pedal. Dual circuit brakes with discs on all
four wheels are fitted; the brake calipers have been rebuilt and
the brake master cylinder replaced. On arrival into the UK. the
paintwork was found to have suffered from the Californian sun so a
re-paint was carried out to the high standard in evidence today. On
strip down. the 356 was found to be remarkably free from corrosion
as one would expect from a Southern Californian car and the boot. br/>doors. bonnet and A-posts were found to have matching chassis
numbers stamped on them. On a recent test. the 356C started easily
and demonstrated excellent acceleration with a large amount of
torque whilst sounding wonderful. The car pulled to a stop with
ease and the instruments recorded as they should.

A letter from Porsche Cars Great Britain Limited and a
Certificate of Authenticity confirm that this is a genuine 1964
356C Coupé. Presented in silver with grey stripes and complemented
by a genuine set of 1971 Fuchs wheels. this 356C not only looks
fabulous but also has the drive to match.
