The M 100 Lotus Elan was produced between 1989 and 1995 featuring a composite fiberglass body over a steel chassis and front wheel drive. The 1. 6 litre DOHC engine was sourced from Isuzu but heavily modified by Lotus to allow 162 bhp and 137 mph in turbo form. The cars handling was much lauded in its day and “Autocar” magazine described it as the “quickest point to point car available” in 1990. Today the M 100 is fast becoming a classic and prices are rising steadily for good cars.
This car is a 1990 Lotus Elan M 100 turbo in red with grey leather interior. The mileage is correct at 85. 00 and this is backed up by a full service history – stamped service book to 65 k miles and various subsequent bills for maintenance including a top end re-build and replacement cam-belt at 69 k. The body and paintwork are in superb condition with no cracking or blistering.
Mechanically this Lotus is also excellent and it drives superbly. We have just carried out some minor job after a period of little use including an oil change. brake overhaul. new battery. and two new front tyres. Mot until July 2016.
There are one or two minor cosmetic jobs to make this car perfect but generally the condition is best described as excellent and clearly at this price. superb value!
