FOR SALE: A rare UK-supplied E 28 M 5. with just 89 k miles.

EQUIPMENT

EXTERIOR
E 28 M 5 s were the ultimate Q cars of the 80's as the styling was very understated. with only the discreet M badges. rear spoiler. and air dam hinting at its performance. This M 5 is finished in Alpine white and is in great condition.

Looking around the car you'll notice how all the panels remain perfectly straight with no unsightly dings to mention. There are no scratches or scuffs on the car and all the plastic trim remains in excellent order. All the lenses and glass are damage-free. and each of the badges present impeccably.

INTERIOR
This mighty saloon still has its original BMW over mats that have kept the carpets in as new condition. The leather seats are showing minimal wear and all the plastic trim is immaculate.

The door cards are free from any scuffs and the only ‘modern' addition is a Pioneer tape player with 6-disc multichanger in the boot. The toolkit is complete and the boot area looks like new.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
These E 28 M 5's often have high mileage as they where used by business men flying up and down the M 1 in the late 80's. so this example has had a very easy life only covering 89 k in the last 28 years.

It has rarely had a period without use so it's got the perfect combination of traveling a few thousand miles each year and frequent servicing. The engine pulls really well and the gearbox feels tight and precise.

WHEELS. TYRES & BRAKES
Being a later M 5 this example is fitted with the factory 16-inch spoke alloys. all of which are in good condition with only minor curb marking to note. The BMW emblems also present well and are free from any discolouration.

The wheels are shod in a matching set of tyres with a good level of tread remaining. and the discs also show plenty of life left in them.

HISTORY FILE
This M 5 was first registered in February 1987 and was supplied by Hexagon of Highgate Ltd. Three months later the car received its all-important running-in service. For the first few years the servicing was carried out by the supplying main dealer in London before being passed over to a BMW Specialist in the early 90's. Since 1996 the car has been in the same care of 'Ashton Motors BMW Specialists' who have serviced the car at close mileage intervals. Most recently. in June this year the car received an Inspection II and Annual Check by BMW specialists. Forrest Motors.

The original service book is fully stamped with every service. and every invoice has been kept detailing the works that have been carried out over the years. All in all the car has been serviced 23 times over its 28 year life. and to further verify the low mileage there are 18 previous MOT certificates in the history file. The original document holder is still present along with all the dealer-supplied owner's manuals and guides.
