1969 Land Rover Series IIa Lightweight for sale

This is a very rare Series 2a lightweight - the earliest vehicles of which this is one. had the headlights in the grill. just like the standard 2a.

This was changed by 1971 to headlights in the wings. so these models were only manufactured for a very short period of time. and due to their age. very few have survived.

This is chassis No. 772 off the production line. It was fully rebuilt onto a new galvanised chassis just under two years ago. but it has been MOT'd . then stored under cover since.

The bulkhead is ALSO galvanised. to include the vulnerable top rail.

Externally there are 5 brand new matching military tyres. a new canvas. and the paintwork is of a gloss. professional finish. This is one straight lightweight. It has been detailed well with front bumperettes and lifting eyes. and to the rear. under arch tool box. rear bumperettes. split tailgate. and nato hitch for use with a sankey trailer.

Moving to the inside. the rear has been detailed. with the floor strips having been re-galvanised (as with all the other cappings). and these have been refitted to the gloss floor - it's stunning.

To the front. there are the correct twin seats with shallow backrests as needed to give the required legroom. and the cabin has not escaped the detailing either - galvanised fly screens. gloss green paint to the galvanised footwells. smiths heater etc etc. and as it's a 2a it has push button start and 2a style indicators.

The under bonnet is also as one would expect from a rebuilt vehicle. and it is very nicely presented.

To summarise. not only is this a very rare vehicle. it has been rebuilt to a high standard. observing galvanising to all the vulnerable areas - these lightweights are both great to look at and a sound investment.
