1964 Austin Healey 3000 Mk III BJ8 for sale

This right-hand drive. home market Healey 3000 is finished in its original colour combination of Healey Blue over Ivory White with dark blue interior and hood – perhaps the most attractive combination for a MKIII.
With works-type side vents. a side-exit exhaust. lowered ride height and the bumpers removed it looks an extremely attractive and purposeful machine.
Aside from these minor modifications. this Healey is an unusually original example. It was discovered around fifteen years ago having been dry stored in a garage for decades. reputedly having had just one owner from new then garaged by his widow following his death.
Thanks to dry storage the body was remarkably solid and original and only necessitated minimal repairs then a bare metal respray. We have a photographic record of this work being undertaken.
The bodywork is lovely and straight with excellent panel fit.
The interior. remarkably. remains largely original. It's in fabulous condition with a lovely patina. The hood has recently been replaced so is as new.
In 2008 the original engine was fully rebuilt at a cost of nearly £5000. We have the receipt for this along with a substantial folder of bills. detailing every cost of its restoration.
What's particularly lovely about this Healey is how it drives. It feels tight and together on the road with potent performance. sharp handling. a slick gearbox with responsive overdrive and effective brakes (uprated discs and pads).
Overall. a great looking and driving Healey that's eminently usable and ready to be driven enthusiastically and enjoyed.
