With nearly four million cars built between 1948 and the end of production in 1990 the 2 CV must rank as one of the most successful designs specifically aimed at the home French market.
With its amazing abilities it was soon the vehicle of choice from rural communities to busy Parisians.
They were basic to the extreme and easy to service and drive with a spacious interior and great economy.
It is a Marmite car really with a split divide of fans and critics mainly due to the quirky looks and drivability compared to home built cars like the Mini and other more conventional products.
This is a beautiful example restored around 5 years ago at great expense and to a very high standard.
With only 4 owners she must be one of the best available and drives perfectly with a willing engine and gearbox providing very reasonable performance.
