This lovely Austin A40 has it all for a very modest price . It is in superb condition everywhere and ticks all the boxes . Engine has been reconditioned . Bodywork and paint are superb. interior is perfect. has all the period extras to transport you in time . The car is an showroom condition . On top of that. an A40 of this standard is becoming very hard to find . ou hardly ever see them advertised . On top of all that the car is a star . Having been magazine featured of which we have a copy . This charming A40 was used as one of the main cars for a recent film about Eric Morcombe and Ernie Wise . Starring Vic Reeves . ictoria woods. This was Erics dads' car. We have many pics of the film set and a new copy of the DVD . Whilst we understand this doesnt really affect the value . nless you are that way encilned . t does add great provenance to the car .
As an investment . fun and something to drive to the shows and be proud of this car ticks all those boxes . Be quick on this one i dont think it will last long . It may just go to my Dad. 1 percent in the bank or this . t's a no brainer !!
The car also comes with boxes of spares including all glass . ncluding front and rear screen .
The 1200 cc engine is running superb . fter having a recent rebuild including rebuilt cylinder head to run on unleaded fuel . Electronic ignition has been fitted for reliability . There are no leaks or strange noises and starts 1st time . having been used in its recent life for a lot of tv and film work the emphasis has been put on reliability for obvious reasons.
The original steel wheels are in 1st class condition . ith the original trims all in perfect order
The paintwork and bodywork are both excellent . estored many years ago but still looking very fresh . The chrome work being mostly original is excellent . Several parts have been re chromed including the bumpers . The addition of the sun visor /the period badge bar with original badges and the original Lucas spotlights really do give this car character . And what character !!! it is time warp . Having being used in Period dramas it really represents that era. The semaphores all work
The interior is all A1 . the carpets are perfect. the headlining is perfect . door cars all perfect. the seats again as the rest . ust A1 . Having gone threw a major restoration many years ago . The original metal sliding roof is all functioning correctly . There is an original period radio . ut we don't think this is connected. The heater option is all present and correct The boot space is super clean . ith no rust whatsoever . The original jack and tools are present.

Is this car still for sale

from Keith Clark, dated 01 june 2019
I am trying to source a first time classic for a freind who has just returned from work abroad. This car is perfect for him; in fact I'm coveting it myself. I've always loved the Somerset and Atlantic. I just hope that it is still for sale. We could veiw the car on Monday if so. Please let me know if this would be convenient for yourself. Regards, Keith Clark, (Sheffield)
