1937 Lagonda LG45 SB3 Pillarless Saloon for sale

1937 Lagonda LG 45 Pillarless Saloon

One of only 270 produced. This Lagonda is a very rare 'pillarless' Model (ie. without the central pillar between the two doors. ) In addition it is the ' Sanction 3 ' Model with the redesigned Harry Weslake Cylinder head with the improved porting and the stronger G 10 gearbox. also used in the Bigger V 12 Model.
The car is fitted with its original 4. 5 litre Meadows engine which was rebuilt in 1979 by the previous owner of some 25 or so years. The car is finished in two tone maroon & red paint that was done a few years ago & presents well. More recently a full re-trim was undertaken in burgundy leather with matching carpets making the interior a lovely place to be.
On the road the car performs superbly being considerably quicker then an equivalent Derby Bentley. The 4. 5 litre Meadows engine is effortless in performance starting easily & driving beautifully.
The car sits on wire wheels located with knock off spinners with twin spares located under aluminium covers recessed into the wings. The timbers in the SB 3 body are in fine order with excellent door shuts. The front seats fold forwards allowing easy access to the rear seats.
