This is a very rare car and values are climbing on this absolute gorgeous masterpiece. This might soon be a 20-30 million dollar car like the 62 Ferrari GTO since both cars have substancial racing history !
THIS CAR IS A 1984 DETOMASO PANTERA GT 5 VIN #874 LTHPNBM 09298 !. EBAY WOULD NOT ACCEPT THE EUROPEAN VIN NUMBER SO I HAD TO LIST IT AS A 1980 FOR LISTING PURPOSES
According to De Tomaso the chassis was completely revised in 1980. beginning with chassis number 9000.

From May 1980 the lineup included the GT 5. which had bonded and riveted-on fibreglass wheelarch extensions and from November 1984 the GT 5 S model which had blended arches and a distinctive wide-body look.

The GT 5 also incorporated better brakes. a more luxurious interior. much larger wheels and tires and the fiberglass body kit also included an air dam and side skirts. Production of the wide body GT 5 (and similarly equipped narrow body GTS models) continued until 1985. when the GT 5-S replaced the GT 5. Although the factory has not made its records available. an analysis based on Vehicle Identification Numbers by the Pantera Owners Club of America (POCA) late model (9000 series) registrar has shown that fewer than 252 GT 5 Panteras were likely to have been built.
This Car has had over $85. 00 spent on total proffesional restoration. This was completed by one of the best automotive restorers in Canada called the Automotive Guild of car restorers in Bradford. Ontario. ictures of the restoration are available on their website and this car is listed.
