1966 Ford Mustang GT Coupe
Data tag-correct Dark Green over Green Pony interior! Fitted with air conditioning. power steering. power brakes. GT equipment group. Rally-Pac and more! Fully serviced and ready to go!
By early March of 1966. Ford had already sold 1. 00. 00 Mustangs. The seemingly endless array of possibilities meant that anyone from young teenage boys to grandmas could spec their Mustang out in various flavors from mild to wild. There were still three body styles. four engines and a plethora of interior and exterior colors and trim packages. All said and done. another 607. 00 Mustangs found homes in 1966!
We are very excited to offer this 1966 Ford Mustang GT Coupe! The car is finished in its original shade of Dark Green Metallic with an Ivy Gold & White pony vinyl interior.
The car retains a correct 289 ci A-Code motor. now fitted with an upgraded Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold and Holley carburetor. Originally California built & sold new from the Los Angeles area. the car comes equipped with a host of options including air conditioning. power steering. power brakes. AM/FM radio with Pioneer speakers. bucket seats with full length console. Rally-Pac clock/tachometer. GT equipment group (HD suspension. 22:1 steering. front disc brakes. 4-inch fog lamps. five-dial instrument cluster. GT badging. hood accent molding and triple stripe on lower body). seatbelts front and rear. visibility group (two-speed wipers. day/nite rear-view mirror. remote side-view mirror) and styled steel wheels wrapped in 185/75 R 14 Hankook Optimo H 724 radial white line tires.
Over $10. 00 has been invested in this car in the last three months to make sure the car is in tip-top mechanical shape and that it is ready for the road.
Having been parked in southern California for some years. repairs and adjustments include carburetor tuning. A/C system rebuild. brand new polished chrome wheels (1965 version with new 1966 trim rings included) and radial tires. new exhaust mufflers. new glove box. new fuel sending unit. and a new vinyl top. In addition. the paint was wet-sanded and buffed to a great shine that would trick people into thinking it's newer than it is.
The chrome is also very presentable and the engine bay. undercarriage and interior bits have been gone through to ensure that it can be parked proudly at local Mustang events. All of the glass except the windshield is factory Carlite equipment. The car runs down the road very well. with crisp shifts and cold air conditioning.
With a 3. 00:1 rear axle ratio. the car is definitely configured for long-distance cruising and modern interstate speeds. The car currently shows 53. 81 miles we are making no claims to the originality of this number and the car is being advertised as exempt.
It remains titled out of the State of California.
