The MGB was launched in May 1962 to replace the MGA. Introduced
as a four-cylinder roadster. a coupé with 2+2 seating was added in
1965. The MGB was a relatively modern design at the time of its
introduction utilising a monocoque structure instead of the
traditional 'body-on-frame' construction used on both the MGA and
MGT types. The lightweight design reduced manufacturing costs while
adding to overall vehicle strength. Wind-up windows were standard
and a comfortable driver's compartment offered plenty of legroom.
The MGB's performance was considered brisk at the time of its
introduction. with a 0-60mph time of just over 11 seconds aided by
the relatively light weight of the car. Handling was certainly one
of the MGB's strong points.

This 1972 registered MGB is a good tidy example with no obvious
points for concern. Our road test demonstrated how robust and
enjoyable these sportscars are to drive. The 1798cc engine pulled
well and the gearbox was smooth in operation. the overdrive unit
also functioned as it should and the car benefits from electronic
ignition. Finished in blue with beige trim. this roadster is a
perfectly useable example with the vendor having just completed an
enjoyable trip to Le Mans in her. Supplied with a V5 registration
document. a current MoT test certificate valid until 14th April
2015 (no advisories) and a good history file dating back until
1982. Recent press coverage has highlighted MGB's to be good value
for money.
