Oldsmobile : Cutlass Salon

This rare 17 K mile original 1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass Salon is a time capsule. looking and driving like it came off of the showroom floor in Knoxville. TN.

Purchased by a female resident in Knoxville. it remained there in the hands of the second owner (a collector) until about four years ago. when it moved to Michigan and eventually to Pennsylvania (a year ago).

In each instance. it received excellent garage kept care.

The body is super straight and untouched.

The paint has excellent pigment and depth . which was an issue with some Oldsmobiles in the 1980 s.

Thus. there is no checking. etc.

There may be one or two stone chips. but no more.

The bumper fillers are like new. which again is rare. as they usually deteriorated.

All chrome is mint. as are all color emblems. etc.

The aluminum wheels . another rare item . they are factory . are clean and untouched by marks or nicks.

The tires have very good tread depth with no sidewall deterioration.

The 5. 0 L V 8 runs strong and smooth.

Several months ago it received a fresh tune up with new plugs. wires. and so forth.

The 4 speed automatic on the floor was a standard on all Salon models. Thus. it paralleled the 442 in drive train features and performance.

The undercarriage is clean and tight.

The exhaust system even looks mint.

As you can observe from the photos. the engine compartment is super clean. and it includes new hood insulation. because the original was somewhat worn.

On the inside. the interior carries all the sport features. like the 442. including the deluxe steering wheel and fully instrumented dash. bucket front (power driver's side 6 way) seats with a full bench back seat.

The headliner is tight and clean.

The carpets are like new. as are the door seals. etc. All power options including locks. windows. seat. cruise. and radio work well.

(Please note that the power antenna does not project or retract. however. the radio works well when the antenna is manually raised. ) The trunk is also mint.

Because of the secondary trunk mat. the factory mat has rarely seen the light of day.
