Plymouth : Other Belvedere I

RARE 1965 Plymouth Belvedere I 4 door sedan with the police package. This is not a clone. tribute. replica or whatever else people choose to call them. this is the real thing. Finding a police package anything from the '60 s is nearly impossible. don't miss this one. It is a base model Belvedere I equipped with a 318 V 8 and automatic transmission. It still has it's radio delete plate in the dash and the two holes from the microphone clip are in the dash. it still has the original gauges including a certified speedometer. An oil pressure gauge was added to replace the idiot light in the dash. It's an original 2 tone black and white. the paint code on the body tag reads 999 for special paint.

I don't know what agency owned the car when new. it had two forward facing lights on the roof on mounting brackets based on the filled holes on the roof. There is a hole where a roof antenna was mounted. 1965 Belvederes were used by a number of police agencies including LAPD. Earlier episodes of Adam 12 have 1965 LAPD Belvederes used as background vehicles. This would be a chance to do a LAPD model I've never seen restored.

The black and yellow license plates on the car were issued in 1967 or 68. probably when the car was retired This Belvedere is unusual that it has factory bucket sets in place of a front bench. under the back seat was a tag stating heavy duty seats and bucket seats.
This car obviously needs a full restoration but would be worth the effort. The body is fairly straight with no major damage. This has been a California car so the only body rust I see is some minor bubbling on the corners of the front doors and trunk lid and a couple of small spots under the rear window. all should be an easy fix. As is common with these police cars with rubber floor mats. water gets under the mat and causes rust. The rear seat pan on the driver's side is rusted out and there is some damage to the driver's side front pan. patch panels are available from a number of vendors. The seats. headliner. floor mat and door panels need work. The car has been sitting a number of years but does start up and sounds good. If the car has been sitting a while the carb. will need to be primed. probably a weak accelerator pump. Please look at all the pictures to determine condition. The car moves and stops in my lot and would be able to be loaded on at transporter or trailer. DO NOT plan on driving the car home.

The 5 digit odometer shows 28. 893. I'm sure it has turned over at least once. There is a clear title on the car. A $500. 00 deposit via paypal is required within 24 hours of the auctions end. the balance is due within 7 days via cash in person. cashiers check or bank wire transfer.

The car can be stored for up to four weeks after the auction end.
