Up for sale is a 1979 Mazda Rx7. A rare 4 speed manual with no sunroof. and super low miles. Has most of its maintenance history starting from its first oil change in 79. Just about everything on this car works. aside from the radio that only wants to work at times. A/C compressor even comes on. but I think it needs recharged. Doesn't have the common rust behind fenders! Completely original.

Interior - 7/10
Dark red cloth. Everything is there. Vent blows. heat works. clock works. carpet is in decent shape. headliner looks like new. doors don't sag. hatch opens freely (new hatch shocks). dash lights work. The tape on the dash. is from a dash cover a previous owner used.

Exterior - 8/10
White exterior that looks like it may have been repainted at one time. No runs. No signs of rust under the car aside from very minor surface rust. Pop up lights still work. as well as other lights. No major dents. Very clean.

Mechanically - 7/10
1. 1L Rotary engine. Engine is VERY strong. Transmission is is smooth as butter. New rear tires. Brakes are great! I would give the mechanical area a full 10/10 if it was running top notch. but its starving for fuel at times. It'll run and drive. but the fuel lines go dry after driving too long (most likely a fuel pump. but I keep finding small fuel leaks that could also be related). After it sits for roughly 5 minutes. the lines fill back up and car cranks right back up.  May also need some carburetor work. It'll idle on its own at times. but not others.

MANY new parts. Water pump. spark plugs (NGK). plug wires. fuel filter. front brake pads (hawk pads). belts. battery. the list goes on and on.

This is not my first rotary. I am also a full time mechanic and know my way around a car. I just had it shipped up here from Florida. I am selling the car because winter is here and I don't have anything to drive for winter. and would HATE to be stuck driving a clean. rust free classic like this in the snow! Needs a good home! Can be driven. but I recommend getting it towed at least until this fuel issue is figured out. If the car isn't sold soon. I'll fix the issue myself. but expect to see the price jump. Also have videos if it running that I can send you. if interested.

Car also has a full brake flush (dot 4). coolant flush. clutch slave and master cylinder. and battery.

The previous owner says the car had sat for ~10 years but got it running and drivable. When he did this. he installed new fuel lines. What I keep finding now. is little fuel leaks on the connections. and even a couple loose screws on the carburetor bowls. I haven't driven the car since I've messed with it.

This is not my daily driver. and the miles probably won't move much if at all before sold.

Also wanted to clear the air about the hood! It opens and closes all the way. The first pictures I uploaded. the hood was popped open. and it opens from the windshield. It will also need one new wiper arm(passenger side). It is removed in the pictures. but in the back of the car. The wiper arm itself is stripped and I didn't want it to brake the working mechanism. Part is about $30 here on eBay. and is just one bolt to install. I added a few more pictures as well!! The picture inside the owners manual is of some maintenance history. I would have posted more. but I'm out of free pictures!
