Lincoln : Continental Base for sale
Current customer rating:
1969 Continental 2 door coupe. Lincoln made around 9000 coupes vs. 28. 00 sedans. so it should be an uncommon. worthwhile project for someone.
Here's a video to give you a quick idea of the car's condition: https://www. youtube. com/watch?v=Z4TNhLE1XfE
Body: Has been repainted (was originally silver too) but the repaint hasn't aged too well. Sides are still shiny but have some scratches and dents. One lower trim piece is tweaked. The car is very rust-free overall. with just some bubbles on the bottom of one rear quarter.
Interior: Appears all original. front seat could use recovering. rear seats are intact. headliner has some rips. Needs new speakers: had a non-invasive aftermarket sound system at one time. Power windows. but only drivers works. Speedometer. lights. fuel gauge. horn and wipers all work. Turn signals come on but don't flash.
Drivetrain: Monster 460 cid V8 motor starts up and runs well. Some tailpipe smoke on startup occasionally. Carb professionally rebuilt. still hesitates on hard acceleration but drives very well with more gentle throttle. Idle is spot on. no dieseling. no apparent vac leaks. A/C condenser removed. but it's in the trunk. Appears to have newer radiator. thermostat. coolant hoses. spark plugs and wires. Power steering has leak but still works. Transmission shifts great and brakes are sharper than any classic I've had. Ride is very smooth and she does fine on the freeway. New tires all around.
Too long. didn't read? Here's the basics: Uncommon Continental coupe. nbsp;very solid resto candidate or enjoy it as-is. Hop in. turn the key and drive around - looks good from 30 feet - interior has wear but isn't horrible - needs a few weekend fixes but worth the effort. Happy bidding. questions welcome.
