Here is a chance to own a very rare car! An early Cadillac La Salle

The first La Salle's rolled off the assembly line at Cadillac in 1927. the first design for GM by the now legendary Harley Earl. GM engineers designed a new V 8 for the La Salle line. It was a simpler. less expensive engine and. in the long run. the La Salle unit proved superior in every respect to the original Cadillac V 8. It was undoubtedly one of the best looking American cars of its day. with fenders that were long and sweeping. The two-tone colour combinations. a novelty in the late 1920's. were sensational. The La Salle's dashing looks. fine performance. and competitive pricing. made it an instant hit.

This 1927 La Salle came from the Danish collection of Baron J. O. Raben-Levetzau. of Denmark's oldest medieval stronghold. Aalholm Castle. It had been on display in his museum for many to admire but the museum closed after his death and his collection of cars was sold off. It has been sitting in a museum for many years and for this reason is currently a non-runner. though the engine is complete and with a little TLC would run again.

This is a beautifully styled car both inside and out and needs to be seen to be appreciated. So few of these versions of the La Salle seem to be currently available.

Although the La Salle is not registered in the UK (it was 1 of only 3 officially sent to Denmark) help and advice can be given on registering the vehicle in the UK with an age related plate.
