This 1985 pickup has been in our family for the last 20 years. My wife's brother bought it from the original owner in 1994. When he passed away. my wife wanted to keep his truck. We have had it for several years. but just don't use it at all. hence the sale. It is equipped with the venerable 22 R engine and a 4-speed manual transmission. It has factory AC and it blows COLD! I have the original owner's manual packet. including the original buyer's order. The original jack and tool kit don't appear to have ever been used. It has a cheesy seat cover. but has always been fine for us. Included is a Kenwood AM/FM/CD player that has the Toyota mounting brackets on it. but has not been installed.
This has been a southern truck all of its life. so does not exhibit the extensive rot that trucks from the rust belt have. The frame. cab. fenders. etc. all are good and solid. However. even in the south. the beds rust. Please see the photos for condition of the bed. Basically. the bed floor in the middle is solid. but the 4 corners fore and aft of the fender wells have rusted. This has pushed through into the classic rust area along the bed seams. BG Fiberglass USA sells a slick reproduction fiberglass bed for $2400 - you can find them with a google search as big brother won't let me post a link to them.
Since we have had the truck. I have done the following maintenance & repairs:Change all fluids New cat-back exhaust Michelin tires Clutch Master & Slave cylinders Blower motor resistor Horn contact pin Front parking brake cable Rebuilt front brake calipers. pads and brake hoses Battery Fuel pump I'm sure there are additional things that I'm forgetting. Also there are a few new spare parts that I will round up and include.
I encourage any potential buyers to come and look at the truck. I have tried to describe the truck as honestly as possible. If you want to arrange a pre-purchase inspection. that's fine with me.
