#158 Early production car for sale
Current customer rating:
1967 Shelby Mustang GT 350
This is a completey restored Nightmist Blue '67 Shelby GT 350 Ford Mustang. It's one of the very early ones - among the first 200 produced as indicated by the 'illegal' side marker lights.
It was assembled by Ford on 11/29/66 and completed at Shelby American on 12/16/66. It was then shipped to Foreign Car Center in Birmingham. Alabama. The original owner who lived in Florida. kept the car until 2002 racking up most of the 89. 82 miles the car now has. Some time in the late 90 s. a restoration was beguan. given up on. and you know the rest of the story.
The car was purchased from the original owner and a week later by Jeff Mays who owned it until April of 2012.
It is essentially a one-owner car. It retains most of it's original parts including the original 306 HP high performance 289 engine and C 4 automatic transmission. The original window sticker is still with the car (the one in the image below is a copy).
The engine and transmission are rebuilt and the engine is 0. 20 over. It has the metal-reinforced hood and trunk lid. It had no serious body damage or rust problems. It's a good solid car. Some of the unique features on this early car are the removable rubber covering for the six point roll bar. functional rear-brake cooling ducts. and inboard-mounted headlights. It has a 3:50 ratio differential.
The steering wheel was restored by Jeff Stevens and the original Kelsey Hayes Magstar wheels were restored by Jim Lyon at Trudesign Wheel in Denver CO. Although fully rotisserie restored. it is intended to be a driver. and a nice driver it is.
It starts well. idles well. and stops well. Being only . 20 over. overheating is not an issue. even in the hot central California weather.
You can get in this car and take it anywhere. It really needs nothing. In addition to the standard Shelby configuration. this car also includes the following options:
Power Steering Power Disc Brakes Shoulder Harness Select- O-Matic Transmission Deluxe Wheels Fold Down Rear Seat
