This is a rare and beautifully restored PE Deluxe sedan.   Every nut and bolt has been painstakingly brought back to very good to excellent condition.   This is an example that can be shown proudly at any concours or regional show.   It is not Best of Show caliber. but it is well done and likely one of the best extant.

On August 8. 1934. Walter P. Chrysler drove the one-millionth Plymouth off a Detroit assembly line. It was a 1934 Plymouth PE DeLuxe four-door sedan. much like the one offered here. It was then exhibited at the Century of Progress exposition in Chicago.

Introduced on July 11. 1928. Plymouth zoomed from nowhere to become the nation's third best-selling make by 1931. Hydraulic brakes were standard right from the beginning. "Floating Power" engine mounts. giving the four-cylinder car "the smoothness of an eight" came on line for 1932. Plymouth's first six appeared with the all-new 1933 models. while independent front suspension bowed a year later.

By 1934 the Depression had loosened its stranglehold on the economy a bit. and Plymouth sales rose 37 percent. A good product helped too. Plymouth urging buyers to "Look at All Three. " What they saw was a 22-model lineup starting at $485. compared to Chevrolet's $465 and Ford's $505.

The L-head inline six was enlarged to 201. 3 cubic inches. and horsepower increased 10 percent to 77 hp. Wheelbase grew two inches on the PE series to 114 inches. two more than Chevrolet or Ford.

Some two-thirds of all Plymouths sold for 1934 were DeLuxes. with the five-passenger. 2. 48-pound. four-door sedan the most popular by far. A bargain at $660. it took 108. 07 of 321. 71 total sales.   These are very rare to see today.   So many have been converted to customs or have been scrapped.

This totally restored Royal Blue beauty is complimented with gray broadcloth interior. Walter P. Chrysler would be proud of it.   We love the artillery wheels and rear spare tire.

Please review the photos and video carefully.   The car is overall restored to a high level.   The restoration was completed about 10 years ago.   The paint is overall very good with only a few areas with light scratches that are noticeable only upon close inspection.   The chrome and trim are overall in very nice condition.   Most of the rubber seals have been replaced and are excellent.   The interior is gorgeous.

Only a few odds and ends need very minor attention.   Mechanically the car runs and stops well.   It has been used locally on a regular basis. only accumulating a couple hundred miles over the last few years.   There are no known mechanical issues.   The glass is all new.

The PE comes with over 100 spare parts that are in a number of boxes.   We can send you a list of the parts included in the sale.   Keep them with the car or take them to Hershey!!

Overall this is an excellent value.   All of the expense has been made to make this one of the best PE Deluxe sedans available.   And the price is only a fraction of what it costs to restore.   For more information please contact Harry Clark at 951. 901. 5088 or email us at harry@classicpromenade. com.
