This car began its life in California. Manufactured at the San Jose assembly Plant with California emissions (still attached. but currently not hooked up October 24. 1969. and sold by Jim Wolfe Ford in Albany California. made its Way to the Midwest at some point (currently located in Michigan). was in storage for a long time until about 1 year ago when the vehicle underwent a very detailed bumper-to-bumper nut - bolt restoration bringing the car to its current condition. This is a solid metal nice driving vehicle that turns just about every head going down the street and gains many compliments along the way.
This is a low maintenance. reliable. close to show quality vehicle that one can drive on a regular basis without concern. People that know cars really love this one. Every system of the vehicle has been professionally inspected for function and cosmetic appearance. Any questionable parts were replaced with new Period correct parts. or rebuilt. All mechanical work was performed in a professional auto repair shop.
The undercarriage is nicely painted - the floor pans. frame rails and torque boxes are solid metal. The front suspension components were replaced with new period correct replacement parts to match the freshly finished undercarriage. Except for the coil springs. the entire front suspension is new - including the upper and lower control arms. all ball joints. inner and outer tie rods. sway bar links and bushings. idler arm and bushing. torsion rods and bushings.
The doors. fenders. hood and interior were removed. the vehicle was fully restored. repainted. and reassembled with new weather-stripping throughout.
The engine is believed to be original and runs strong with the original -rebuilt 2 barrel carburetor. aftermarket headers and new custom dual flow-master exhaust. The radiator. water pump and thermostat are new. The transmission was rebuilt to include a 23-2500 flash-stall torque converter and shift kit. The fuel tank. sending unit and fuel lines are new. A new mini hi-torque starter and starter solenoid were added for additional clearance around the headers.
The power steering pump. power steering assist valve. power steering cylinder. and the power steering lines were replaced and the steering gear box was rebuilt to assure the steering system was solid and reliable. Firestone did the alignment. Except for the rear brake shoes and drums (which are in good working order. the entire brake system is new - the master cylinder. power booster. front calipers. pads and rotors. and all brake lines. The parking brake cable has been disconnected and currently not hooked up as the automatic transmission keeps the vehicle stable while in park.
The tires are brand new. The electrical system has been fully inspected - all the wires confirmed in good working order and all the lights have been replaced - including the dash lights and a new printed circuit board for the instrument cluster. There is currently no radio installed. but the wiring is all there. The interior is new - including carpet. new carpet pad. new additional sound deadening and rust inhibiting insulation for the floor pans and trunk area. deluxe comfort weave seat upholstery made by TMI. front 3 point shoulder seat belts and matching new rear seat belts. window trim. headliner. dash cover. rear package tray. etc .
The attention to detail involved in this restoration has given this car eye popping quality. This car grabs attention and gains many compliments wherever it goes.
