Mercedes-Benz : SL-Class 560SL

Offered for your consideration is my 1988 Mercedes 560 SL with 38. 00 original miles. The color combination is a highly desirable Desert Taupe Metallic with Crème Beige Leather interior and brown soft top. It is a two owner automobile in pristine condition. has a clear Carfax and title. and has just been detailed and serviced. The paint is original and is near perfect with the exception of a few tiny touched up paint chips not noticeable unless you are really scrutinizing the car.

It has never been involved in an accident and has absolutely no rust anywhere. This vehicle has been garaged its entire life and has been detailed frequently. All painted surfaces. plastics. chrome. grill. bumpers. headlamps. tail lamps. marker lamps. dash. gauges. and console wood trim shine like new with no fading. pitting. dulling. or imperfections of any kind. Even the air dam below the front bumper is perfect. Both Hard and Soft Tops appear as new without fading or signs of wear. The interior does show slight fading of carpeting. floor mats. and leather. but remains supple and clean with no signs of wear or any imperfections. Mercedes embroidered floor mats protect front carpeting which appears as new with no stains. damage. or signs of wear. The tires are nearly new. The rims are practically perfect with no curb rash. paint issues. pitting. or damage of any kind aside from a small 1 inch scratch near a lug nut on one wheel. This is shown in one of my photos pointing straight down from the bottom lug nut hole. Again. this is not noticeable unless being scrutinized from close up.

The engine starts effortlessly and runs smooth. quiet. and strong as you would expect a low mile Mercedes Benz to run. It tracks and brakes straight and true. and shifts perfectly. All mechanicals are working perfectly as are the lights. signals. dash functions. ventilation fan. heat etc.

The air conditioning system is original with all components installed as it left the factory. but has lost its charge several years ago and no longer functions. Although seldom driven. this has always been a fair weather vehicle and the top was almost always down. There was no need to use the AC. so the work wasn't completed. The system will need to be recharged. The original Becker cassette stereo is installed. For some unknown reason. FM is no longer functioning. The Cassette player. AM radio. and power antenna is working fine. The next owner may want to have this unit repaired or upgrade to a more modern sound system.

When photographing the underside of the car. I saw that one of the rubber hangers for the exhaust system was missing and shows up in the photo of the undercarriage. A new one will be installed before this listing ends.

I have the dealer service date stamps and logs as well as manuals. brochures. and the original window sticker showing installed options and dealer list price. I believe I have three sets of keys and the Valet key.
