1929 Hupmobile Series M Deluxe Century Opera Coupe offered by Gas Monkey Garage. Showing 70. 28 miles on the odometer. Robert Hupp. a former employee of Ford & Oldsmobile founded the Hupp Motor Car Company in 1908 & began production the following year. in 1912 the Hupmobile was one of the first vehicles pioneering the use of an all steel body. By 1929 The Hupp Motor Company was expanding and took over the Chandler Motor Company in Cleveland Ohio. It was the beginning of the end of the Grand Touring Machines of the era as the depression was right around the corner. This excellent unrestored example of the 1929 Hupmobile Series M DeLuxe Century Opera coupe has been well preserved and cared for throughout its life having been stored indoors for many years. We brought it back to the Gas Monkey Garage. installed a new battery & fresh fuel then fired the 5 Liter flat head straight 8 up. After a brief drive we confirmed engine & transmission operation is on par with what would be expected from an 84 year old Classic Antique Opera Coupe. The steering is solid & precise with smooth braking & a compliant ride. The exterior appears to have the original paint having been touched up throughout its life. which is showing its age now. The Interior is complete (just look at the dash & door escutcheons!) & waiting for the new owner to restore her back to a more elegant & grandeur time. This is an excellent candidate for a Classic Museum Quality restoration that would be eligible forAACA show classification. Promotional or Advertising use or enjoy her as she is until you decide! If you're looking for the crowning jewel in a Classic Car Collection or an entry into the show circuit you won't find a better restorable example that's priced to sell.
